The Plainedge High School Red Devils had much to celebrate on Oct. 17, as their homecoming marked another success for the varsity football team.
Not only did the game begin with a small ceremony honoring former Plainedge graduate and NYPD Detective Brian Moore, but it marked a great victory for the Red Devils as they defeated Lawrence with a score of 34-0.
The halftime show featured flawless performances from the marching band, as well as the kickline team and varsity cheerleaders. The much-anticipated crowning of the king and queen also took place during halftime and highlighted each of the honorees. Congratulations to Nikolaos “Niko” Nantsis and Daniella Swartz on being nominated for the crown by their peers.
Money was also raised for the Brian Moore Me morial Statue Fund, in which a likeness of Moore will be erected in Plainedge Park.
