The Plainedge High School Key Club, in conjunction with the Massapequa Kiwanis Club, honored military veterans and the men and women who are actively serving the country with a Field of Honor display at John H. West Elementary School in the Plainedge School District.
The week of Veterans Day, a special dedication ceremony was held to honor those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. Local officials and veterans, as well as school administrators and students, were present to commemorate the event.
The Field of Honor includes approximately 200 flags which will be on display through the beginning of December. Proceeds benefit local veterans of the community who are in need of support.
