heartsThe American Heart Association announced that Linda Ressa will be honored at the American Heart Association’s 15th Annual Long Island Go Red For Women Luncheon. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, Feb. 11, at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
As honoree, Linda Ressa has made a commitment to support and create awareness about heart disease and strokes especially as it pertains to women. “I am very honored and proud to have been chosen as the 2016 Honoree of the American Heart Association’s Long Island Go Red For Women Luncheon,” said Ressa. “My goal is to help women become aware of their risk factors and to educate them to make healthy choices every day.”
Born and raised on Long Island, she grew up in Manhasset. Ressa holds a bachelor of science and an MBA from St. John’s University, where she graduated summa cum laude.
Ressa has been married for 26 years and has three children, Anthony, Danielle and Arianna. She currently resides in Manhasset.
Heart disease and stroke are the No. 1 and No. 5 killers of Long Island women. Most women don’t notice the symptoms of heart disease until it’s too late. That’s why heart disease has been called the “silent killer.” For information about sponsorship opportunities, ticket or table reservations, or other questions, call Meredith McCaslin, American Heart Association, at 516-450-9131 or visit www.longislandgoredluncheon
