Roosevelt Man Killed in Shooting

A 46-year-old man was shot and killed in his hometown of Roosevelt over the weekend, Nassau County police said.

Allen Simpkins Jr. was found lying on the ground in front of his John Street home at 3:56 a.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene of a gunshot wound, police said.

Homicide Squad detectives ask anyone with information regarding this case to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
