New York State Assemblyman Joseph Saladino, a lifelong Massapequa resident, was recently inducted as an honorary member of the Massapequa Fire Department companies 4 and 6. Saladino is a longtime supporter of public safety, fire fighters and emergency responders.
“All of our firefighters and emergency responders are amazing, brave and unselfish people. When most are running from a burning building, they are running toward it,” he said. “We owe them so much continued appreciation for their protection of our lives and property. I am honored to receive this title and will continue to work to earn it. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the members of the Massapequa Fire Department, companies 4 and 6, and all emergency responders who wear the uniform.”
Saladino has taken this opportunity to inspire residents to join the local fire department.
“It is through the volunteer efforts of brave young people who are willing to train and protect us that we keep our communities safe,” he said. “Please contact your local fire department for more information about getting involved and becoming a true community hero.”
