IKEA Long Island announced that YES Community Counseling Center, headquartered in Massapequa, is the winner of this store’s IKEA Life Improvement Challenge and will be receiving a makeover. Additionally, first runner up The Hicksville Boys & Girls Club and second runner up the John Theissen Children’s Foundation will be receiving product donations.

YES Community Counseling Center was awarded a makeover from the IKEA Long Island store located in Hicksville. The makeover will enable YES Commerce Plaza in Levittown to renovate a kitchen. This kitchen makeover will enable the area to be used by students.
Across the U.S., there was a total of 43 charitable organizations who won IKEA makeovers and 77 other charities, who were first and second runner ups, won an IKEA product donation.

While IKEA works on a global level to improve the lives of people in developing countries, the company also wants to be a good neighbor in its local communities. The IKEA Life Improvement co-worker challenge is one way to make a difference closer to home.
