The Great Neck Library staff and board of trustees wish the very best for librarian Jayne Alexander, Parkville Branch head, upon her retirement from 35 years of service at the Great Neck Library.
Alexander began her career at the Main Library and then went on to become head of the Lakeville Branch in the 1980s. Following her time at Lakeville, she became branch head at Parkville until her last day at the library before retirement on Friday, April 29.
Speaking for herself and the entire staff at Parkville, librarian Sheila Cursio said, “We will miss Jayne and her dedication, friendship and sense of humor.”
Alexander initiated innovative programs at Parkville including the Parkville Book Group, the morning one-on-one computer help and many others. She set the positive tone for the branch, making it a comfortable and friendly place for the community.
Congratulations go to librarian Justin Crossfox, Great Neck Library children’s librarian, in his new position as Parkville branch head. Crossfox has been with the library since 2004, beginning in the Circulation Dept. Much success is wished for Crossfox in his continued career with the Great Neck Library and new home at the Parkville Branch.
