Mayor Nicholas P. Episcopia recently presented Peter Tittler with a village citation at village hall in fitting recognition and heartfelt appreciation of the integrity and dedication he continues to demonstrate in all professional and civic endeavors.
Tittler, who said he accepted the citation on behalf of all volunteers in Garden City, joined the Garden City Jewish Center 33 years ago. He is being honored by the Center’s board of trustees as its Volunteer of the Year.
Since joining the Garden City Jewish Center, Tittler has held various positions, including board member, treasurer, vice president, vice president of finance, “First Man” and his current position, corresponding secretary. He has also been active as a building and grounds member, the Bulletin editor and the Fundraising Journal editor, where he oversaw everything from budgets to holiday pizza parties.
“Your organizational and leadership qualities have had a profound and beneficial impact on the groups, activities and ideals which you have so benevolently enhanced with your talent and enthusiasm,” Episcopia said.
