The Women’s Club of Flower Hill held a shopping and tasting luncheon early in June. The luncheon was held at the gracious home of Angela Classi. The net proceeds of the event benefited Planet Manhasset Edible Gardens.
On hand was Mayor Elaine Phillips, who was encouraged to speak about her nomination as Republican candidate for New York State Senate. Phillips spoke fondly of working with many in attendance and highlighted briefly her background and accomplishments in office and in school. She spoke of the spreading epidemic of heroin and drug use and urged all to attend a seminar at village hall on the topic to empower and educate residents and families about drug abuse and knowing the signs. She held a brief Q & A after the presentation and thanked the audience for the opportunity to speak.
Ladies shopped indoors and outside with such vendors as Preppy Player, Vasiliki , Randesvision, Patrice, Witchy Poo, Glamslamgear and Bread & Butter. Wellness was also a center of attention with Thrive Naturally selling bangles and glasses. With a sunny day and fabulous food. Luncheon sponsors included Red Maple Market, Prime Caterers and Sullivan’s Quay.
