Anthony DiDomenico will join the Great Neck Park District as the new assistant superintendent on Monday, July 11, bringing more than 13 years of parks and recreation experience from both the public and private sectors.
After receiving a bachelor of science degree in physical education from Adelphi University, DiDomenico began his career as senior recreation supervisor at a nonprofit recreation agency in Purchase, NY. For 10 years, he managed the recreation programming, summer day camp, pool facility and daily operations, and was awarded a Certificate for Excellent Work and Dedication from the town of Purchase in 2013.
DiDomenico then became assistant superintendent of parks, recreation and conservation for the Village of Scarsdale. During his three years there, he accumulated municipal, administrative and managerial experience, providing recreational services to approximately 18,000 residents. He assisted in multiple capital projects, including the creation of a new community park, athletic field renovations and beatification projects.
He strives to provide recreation services for people of all ages and abilities, while recognizing individual needs and interests. The Great Neck Park District welcomes DiDomenico, his wife and two children and looks forward to experiencing his passion for recreation and his expertise in the field.
