Syosset Car Fire Leaves 1 Dead

A person died in a Syosset car fire on Wednesday afternoon, Nassau County police said.

Officers and Syosset Fire Department firefighters responded to the blaze on Southwood Circle near the intersection of Belmont Circle at 4:33 p.m., police said.

After firefighters extinguished the flames, the body of an unidentified person was found dead inside the 2006 Mercedes-Benz, police said.

Detectives are continuing the investigation.
