A man was arrested for intentionally drowning his 63-year-old mother at their Cold Spring Harbor home on Wednesday, Suffolk County police said.
Denis D. Cullen Jr., 23, was charged with second-degree murder for killing Elizabeth Cullen, police said.
Lloyd Harbor village police officers who were called to check on the victim’s welfare found her in the back yard and contacted Suffolk County police Homicide Squad detectives, authorities said.
Investigators suspect Cullen had been intentionally drowned, police said.
Detectives are continuing the investigation. Cullen will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.
