Roberta C. Burke

Roberta C. Burke (nee Kuster) passed away in Jacksonville, FL, Aug. 6, 2016. Born on Feb. 8, 1935 in Rockville Centre, New York to Frederick and Mary Kuster.

Attended Westbury High School, Grace Institute and Hofstra College. She worked under the jurisdiction of the Treasurers and Ticket Sellers Local 751. “Bobbi,” is survived by her brother Charles Kuster. Her dear brother Frederick passed away a number of years ago.

Her marriage to John Bruce Rhodehouse gave her two darling girls, Gale R. Spyridon and Lenore Anne Howard.

She didn’t like the cold weather and many Februarys found her in Acapolco, Mexico with dear friends. Later, Hilton Head Island became her escape where she found the Heritage Library and learned to research the family, putting her children in the “Pilgrims,” proving the English side of the family back to the year of 1566.

Her third cousin helped her with the difficult old German language. She had 13 generations of the Kuster family completed. Bobbi moved to Jacksonville, Florida for her complicated health issues and found herself on the Cab Board for Bio Services at the Mayo Clinic. “I think individualized medicine is the future,” she said.

She had five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A brief service was held Aug. 12 at the chapel of The Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, where she will rest in St. Paul’s Corridor.
