Two managing directors of Emerald Brand Sustainable Products spoke with North Shore Hebrew Academy High School students in Great Neck during Environmental Science classes and after-school Science Club.
Known as the only tree-free alternative company since 1997, Emerald Brand’s mission is to produce everyday products, such as paper products, plastic cutlery, soap and detergent, from sustainable, alternative materials at affordable prices. Its Emerald Brand Green for Less program is enabling large facilities nationwide to convert their disposables into sustainable products.
Managing Director Jaclyn McDuffey spoke to two Environmental Science classes in the morning and RJ Bianculli spoke to the Science Club after school about its green program.
The program was organized by Peter Suchmann, science research teacher, and Gerard Wykes, science department head, to present applied science and show students STEM (science, technology, engineering and math education) in action. Suchmann can be reached at 516-314-6101. For more information about Emerald, visit www.emeraldbrand.com. North Shore Hebrew Academy can be reached at 516-487-2424.
