Long before Google came along, where did we go when we needed help finding out about almost anything? Our local library, of course. Well, that’s where I go and I know I’m not alone. I always bump into a fellow local community friend while at the Plainedge Library.
As a resident of North Massapequa for more than 18 years I have turned to this library for books, videos, library children’s programs and museum passes that can be borrowed by Plainedge residents for free. The only requirement is a library card.
Throughout the years, I have also needed to explain many issues to my two young children. With the help of two outstanding librarians, I have learned that there is indeed a book to help you explain almost anything. Peggy Gorman and Kathleen Cunningham, the children’s librarians of the Plainedge Library, greet everyone with a smile each day and really enjoy what they do. They get to know everybody and make the library such a fun place to be.
I now once again get to read to young children each day while at work, and I still love visiting our local library.
