A group of 72 kids, parents and grandparents were recently treated to a special day out at the ballgame. They were joined by Port Washington Library staff and chaperones on a bus from the Port library to Citi Field.

The group enjoyed a Mets game complete with private suites, endless food and even a visit by Mr. Met. And, to top off this great day, there was an amazing win by the Mets.

This free-of-charge, open-to-all event was designed to give Port’s kids and grandparents a quality multi-generational bonding experience, and what better way to bond than over a baseball game? The trip was made possible through the courtesy of the New York Mets and a very generous donation from the Tepper Intergenerational Fund of the Port Washington Library Foundation.
