Lake Grove Woman Fatally Hit By Car

A Lake Grove 51-year-old woman was fatally hit by a car while crossing a road in Stony Brook.

Suffolk County police said Stephanie Semler was crossing Route 347 when she was struck by a Honda Civic at the corner of Moriches Road at 5 p.m. Thursday.

The victim was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she died of her injuries.

The driver was neither injured nor charged.

Sixth Squad detectives impounded the vehicle and are continuing the investigation.
