The Farmingdale Fire Department responded to a truck fire on Conklin Street by Stratford Green, near the intersecton of Route 109, on Dec. 6 at 1:30 p.m. The engine and cabin of a flatbed tow truck were engulfed when Squad 924 and Ladder 926 trucks arrived. Ten firefighters responded to extinguish the fire, with Chief of Department Keith Ryan as incident commander. Units were back to their station from the scene within 30 minutes. No additional resources were needed for this incident. The cause is still under investigation. No injuries were reported.
