A 55-year-old Hauppauge man was killed when he crashed his car into a school bus in Ronkonkoma on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Suffolk County police said the victim was driving a Toyota northbound on Ocean Avenue when he crossed over onto southbound lanes and struck a school bus near the corner of Peconic Avenue at 3:50 p.m.
 
The victim was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead. The victim’s name was not immediately available. There were no passengers on the bus and the bus driver was not injured.
 
Fifth Squad detectives impounded both vehicles and are continuing the investigation.
