Suffolk County police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who was found dead in a wooded area in North Amityville last year.

The man was found in the woods just north of the Southern State Parkway and west of Route 110 shortly before noon on Dec. 30, police said. He is described as Hispanic, between 25 and 40 years old, between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall with black hair. He was wearing three-quarter length denim shorts and white Nike sneakers.

Homicide Squad detectives released a sketch of the man, but do not believe the man was the victim of foul play.
