Central Islip Man Fatally Hit by Car

A 41-year-old man was fatally hit by his car while crossing a road in his hometown of Central Islip on Saturday night.

Suffolk County police said Fausto Monterrosa was crossing East Suffolk Avenue when he was struck by a Lexus at 10:35 p.m.

The victim was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead. The driver and his two passengers were not injured. They stayed at the scene.

Third Squad detectives impounded the vehicle and are continuing the investigation.
