A man struck a 25-year-old woman in the head and sexually assaulted her in North Bellmore over the weekend, Nassau County police said.
The victim was walking on Porter Street, two blocks from Wellington C. Mepham High School, when the attacker hit her in the head with an unknown object, causing her to fall to the ground at 2 a.m. Sunday, police said. The assailant then carried her onto the backseat of a black sedan and sexually assaulted her, police said.
The victim struck the suspect, fled the scene and called 911, police said. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect was described as 6-feet tall, in his 30s, with a very large build and had a goatee with no mustache. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark colored sweatshirt.
The vehicle was described as a black, newer model four-door sedan with tan interior that was extremely messy with garbage.
