A gunman was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in prison for shooting a 28-year-old man to death when the assailant opened fire into a group of people in Long Beach in 2014.

Antonio Webb, 24, had pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in March at Nassau County court.

“This defendant’s unconscionable recklessness cost a man his life and left his two young children without a father,” Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas said.

Prosecutors said Webb was armed with a pistol when he fired several shots into a tattoo party at the Channel Park Homes on Birch Court in Long Beach at 12:40 a.m. on Sept. 27, 2014.

Tyrenzo Brown was shot multiple times and taken to South Nassau Communities Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Webb fled the scene but Nassau County police arrested him days later.

The shooting was the result of a dispute over a woman between Webb and a friend of Brown’s, authorities said.
