National French Exam Winners:
Thirty-six high school students are winners in the National French Exam (Le Grand Concours), Nassau County Level. Joanna Asvestas is the French teacher at North High School and Mary Ann Schwartz teaches French at South High.

National Latin Exam Winners:
Seventy-nine secondary students were award winners in the 2017 National Latin Exam. These students were guided by Latin teachers Johanne Lynch at North and South High Schools and by Maria Giannopoulos at South Middle Schools. North Middle seventh-grader Latin students will be eligible to take the exam next year in eighth grade.

One hundred and one students from South High School are winners in the National Spanish Exam, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
