Best of Long Island Spotlight: Top Amusement Park

Adventureland in Farmingdale is Long Island’s longest-running amusement park.

The window is fast closing on the summer season of fun in the sun, but before the vacation or staycation ends, there is one place every Long Island family has to visit.

Aug. 16 is National Rollercoaster Day, and no place on LI has more of them than Adventureland, which was voted Best Family Amusement Place on Long Island in the 2017 Best of Long Island contest.

Indeed, throughout more than five decades, Adventureland has hosted countless Long Islanders with a need for speed who’ve sought the occasional adrenaline fix, with such rides as the Turbulence Coaster, Musik Express, the famed Pirate Ship, or the rolling and whirling Frisbee.

Not a thrill-seeker? Don’t worry, there are always kids and family rides to enjoy, water rides to cool you down, or the arcade to test your skills. At Adventureland, there’s always something for everyone!

Long Island’s favorite amusement park has secured Best Family Amusement Park honors year after year, clearly establishing itself as the premier destination for families looking for some good, old-fashioned, high-quality fun. And for good reason. It has been the go-to spot for birthday bashes and exciting family gatherings since 1962.
