Rocky The Rescue Among Dogs Up for Adoption at Long Island Shelters

Rocky
Rocky

Among the many amazing dogs available for adoption at animal shelter on Long Island this week are Rocky, Mimi, Lex and Julian.

Rocky is the man of the hour. This adorable 2-year-old pocket pittie is ready for his forever home! He found his way to Fur Friends in Need when a Good Samaritan found him abandoned and extremely emaciated. Rocky was treated for malnutrition and is now healthy as can be and ready to go home with you today.

Not only is Rocky super sweet but he’s also good with cats, dogs and kids. If you’re interested in adopting Rocky please go to furfriendsinneed.com and fill out an application today.

Mimi
Mimi

Mimi is a current resident at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter. At 9 years old, this sweet pup was surrendered to the shelter by her owners. Mimi was scared when she arrived and rightly so, but thanks to the hard work and dedication of staff and volunteers, Mimi is just a total goof ball with the people she knows and loves. Once Mimi knows and trusts you, she will allow you to do anything to her, she is beyond tolerant and sweet.

Mimi loves to kiss, roll around in the grass, and cuddle.  She even knows the commands “sit,” “go to your place” and “lay down.” Mimi seems social with male dogs, but doesn’t love females.

Mimi is looking for a savvy owner, one who will understand her and appreciate her. If you are interested, please call for more information: 516-785-5220 or visit 3320 Beltagh Ave. in Wantagh or email at adoption@tohmail.org

Lex
Lex

I am a true sucker for Labs, and who could not fall in love with this face! Lex was brought to Babylon Shelter in August with his brother, who has already been adopted. Lex is a field Lab who requires lots of exercise, training, attention (because he loves people) and a secure yard because he will escape to be near people.

Lex is known as a happy, social fellow with a perpetually wagging tail. He loves to play ball and is slightly cross-eyed, which is beyond adorable by the way since he’s famous for his comical look when his green eyes are focused on the ball in your hand. Lex will thrive with an athletic person as his partner…someone who will set limits for his enthusiasm and help him adjust to the good life in a real home. For more information on adopting Lex, check out his webpage at lasthopeanimalrescue.org

Julian
Julian

Calling all Boxer fans… meet Julian! This 2-year-old boy is nothing more than a big mush. He enjoys being around people and will give you his soft-eyed look for some loving and attention. He is fully house trained and enjoys sleeping in a cuddle bed and is also crate trained.

Julian enjoys playing and would love a house with a fenced yard for him to run. He enjoys an active lifestyle and would enjoy a family that can give him love and exercise. Julian is currently being fostered with other dogs both large and small, so he gets along with everyone!  For more information, pictures and videos about Julian please go to dougbittinger.com

As always, thanks for reading and please remember to always adopt, never shop…pass it on!
