Deacon Fatally Stabbed in Roosevelt

Nassau County police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect who allegedly killed a 70-year-old deacon in a Roosevelt halfway house over the weekend, authorities said.

First Precinct officers responded 911 call on East Roosevelt Avenue and upon arrival, they found Deacon Patrick Logsdon, the program manager of Anthony House, had been stabbed numerous times at 10:22 p.m. Nov. 3., police said.

The victim, who ran the program for St. Vincent dePaul of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are searching for Andre Patton, 47, who authorities warned is considered armed and dangerous. He should not be confronted.

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
