The Manhasset Community Fund (MCF) announced the grant winners for 2018 and invited the recipients to a special afternoon tea at Greentree, the Whitney estate, on June 13. Under the direction of co-presidents Iliza Bartels and John Morse, 13 local Manhasset organizations received generous grants including Adventures in Learning, Coalition Against Substance Abuse (CASA), Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS), Literacy Nassau, Manhasset/Great Neck EOC, Manhasset SEPTA, Manhasset Student Aid Association, Manhasset Women’s Coalition Against Breast Cancer, North Shore Child & Family Guidance, PASE of Manhasset, Science Museum of Long Island, The Nicholas Center for Autism and The Safe Center LI.

Bartels is stepping down as co-president with Linda Clarke stepping into the role. The MCF’s Board of Directors consists of approximately 20 individuals working to support the charities that serve Manhasset.

The MCF is dedicated to bring needed support and services to the residents of Manhasset through raising funds for the charities that serve the residents of Manhasset. Longtime residents Tom O’Malley and his wife Jean have been dedicated to the fund and work tirelessly with committee members to raise funds for these worthwhile organizations. The MCF also serves, from time to time, as a source of funds for emergencies facing those charities.
