The Makeover On The Miracle Mile

NorthernBlvd.A
TGI Fridays has a new look.

There have been a lot of changes to buildings as you turn onto Northern Boulevard from Shelter Rock Road. New retailers and fresh facades have perked up the area. Denny’s, the clothing retailer, has taken over the space at 1435 Northern Blvd., where Pier I used to be. It was a pop-up store during the spring, but now has established itself permanently in the space.

Denny’s is a family-run business that has been servicing families for more than 40 years. The clothier offers the latest styles and a great value in clothing, such as sleepwear and accessories for newborns and toddlers to ‘tweens and everyone in between. There is a huge selection of brand-name and one-of-a kind creations. The Manhasset store is one of 12 Denny’s stores located in New York, New Jersey and Florida. Their flagship store is in Plainview.

TGI Fridays has also had a face-lift with a new look and canopy making the storefront very sleek, modern and cohesive. Inside has been changed as well, replacing the dark interior with light colored wooden furniture and flooring. The red upholstery is replaced with grey-brown and pale green fabrics. This is part of a rebranding which began in 2016 throughout the chain.

”It isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach,” said a spokesperson for the company. “Fridays is taking the learnings gained from the Corpus Christi location and applying them to the subsequent restaurant re-imaging.”

The Fitness Loft is located right above Friday’s. There is plenty of parking behind each store making shopping and dining a snap.

Right next door to Windowrama, PM Pediatrics at 1453 Northern Blvd. has had work done changing the look of the former bicycle store to a sleek modern facility. The pediatric urgent care facility is open as of Sept. 3 and taking patients. The facility takes most major insurances and parents can make an appointment online by visiting www.pmpediatrics.com/location/long-island-manhasset. The office is open daily from noon until midnight and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to midnight.

Across the street, Lord & Taylor at 1440 Northern Blvd. is finishing up a huge renovation that started in 2016 and will be hosting a grand reveal sometime in November. The Manhasset location, which was Lord & Taylor’s first branch store, opened in 1941. Once its two-year renovation and expansion is completed, the store will be more than 122,000 square feet.

The project has doubled the size of the ladies’ shoe department, upgraded floors, lighting and fitting rooms, and added new service desks and a personal shopping office. There is a new main entrance with two-story tall windows at the rear of the store, adjacent to the parking lot near Shelter Rock Road.
