damascus 1
Available for adoption at Little Shelter:

Damascus is a gorgeous and super-friendly 6-year-old chow mix who likely had a rough start. When he arrived at Little Shelter, he showed all the signs of being an outside dog, but that won’t stop him. Little Shelter’s staff has been working with him on a daily basis to help him acclimate to life in a home.

Now don’t be fooled by his colossal size, spend some time with him and you’ll realize he’s just a big baby! Whenever he sees his favorite staff and volunteer members he will talk to them asking for them to play with him. He enjoys going on leisurely walks where he can go at his own pace and explore his surroundings.

Damascus is a very laid-back guy who is content to just lay down at your feet and watch the birds or enjoy a good movie. He doesn’t require a lot of exercise and would be content with a fenced back yard where he can roll in the grass. If Damascus sounds like your type of guy, head in and meet him today! chip

Chip is a gentle long-haired ginger kitty who is sure to capture your heart with his stunning crystal blue eyes. He enjoys getting affection and will wrap himself around your legs to get you to pet him. He loves finding warm sunny spots to curl up for his afternoon naps and likes to spend his time bird watching from the windows.

For more information about adopting Damascus and Chip, please contact Little Animal Rescue & Adoption Center at 33 Warner Rd., 631-368-8770.

Trooper

Available for adoption at the Town of Huntington Cat Shelter:

This curious little kitty is Trooper and he’s always looking for something to get into. He’s a funny boy who likes to follow people around making sure he’s first in line to get affection. Trooper loves to investigate his surroundings and look for new things to play with or places to crawl into. He’s sure to keep his family entertained with his outgoing behavior.

ivy 1
Ivy

Ivy is a sweet young cat who has a lot of playful energy. She loves people and is always trying to get visitors attention. When she’s not trying to get affection from visitors, Ivy can be found bird watching from the window shelf or playing with toys. She would be a great cat in any type of household and has and outgoing personality.

If you are looking for the perfect canine companion, you must check out Duke! He is an extra adorable 2-year-old boy who is on the search for his forever home. Duke came to the shelter in July 2017 and is now searching for his perfect match. Duke is 1,000 percent house trained, and is accustomed to car rides, bathing, nail trims and even teeth brushing! Duke is playful with other dogs and would be a great addition to homes looking for a second dog.

SASHA 1
Sasha

Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America:

In a word, Sasha is heavenly. This 1-year-old beauty is so grateful for any attention offered to her. She’d do best in a calm home with affectionate caretakers.

ZEUS 1
Zeus

Five-year-old Zeus has had a rocky road to finding a loving home, yet has remained a charming, loyal friend. Zeus would do best in a quiet home (if there are children, older is better) and would thrive as an only pet. This gentle fellow has a heart condition that is managed with meds (and that is covered at cost through North Shore Animal League America’s accredited medical center.) A staff favorite, you are sure to fall in love with this orange sweetheart, too.

If you are interested in adopting Sasha or Zues, send an email to MikeS@animalleague.org.

And yes- North Shore Animal League America still has plenty of kittens and puppies rescued by their partners in North and South Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Florence. Their Mobile Rescue Unit traveled south and transported the animals to their Port Washington campus. They’re ready to start new lives in their furrever homes, so head down and grab a new addition to your family!

pancha
Pancha

Available for adoption through Pioneers for Animals Welfare Society, Inc (PAWS).

Meet Pancha (stripes) and her son Timmy (see below). They can be adopted together or separately. It takes Pancha a little time to warm up but once she does, she’s a sweet little thing. She’s playful and she loves to be petted. She enjoys sitting in the windowsill watching the world outside. Pancha has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations. She’s about 4 years old.

timmy
Timmy

Despite spending the first few years of his life on the streets, Timmy loves people. He is very playful and has lots of energy. PAWS has been working with toys and he seems to be a very fast learner, but he would do best in a home with no young children. Timmy has been neutered and is up to date on his vaccinations. He’s roughly 2 years old.

smudge
Smudge

Smudge was recently rescued from a TNR colony on Long Island. He’s just too sweet and tame for a life on the streets. He’s about 10 weeks old, neutered, litter trained, and up to date on vaccines. This adorable little guy is playful and cuddly and will surely steal your heart!

luna
Luna

Meet sweet, petite Luna. Sweet Luna’s family move, but left her behind! She’s a solid grey beauty weighing in at about 6lbs. After living in the lap of her family for 2 ½ years, she was left behind when time came for them to move on. She needs a new family and a forever home this time. Smurf and Bean

Smurf and Bean are two bonded brothers who need a home asap. They are beautiful, healthy purr machines, who are about 3-4 months old. They’ve been neutered, had their rabies vaccinations, and up to date on all vaccines.

They are friendly and playful. You will often find them cuddling up and sleeping together. Their foster mom’s dog doesn’t like them, so they need to find a new home – how about yours

If you’d like more information about adopting Pancha, Timmy, Smudge, Luna, Smurf and Bean, please contact Kerry@paws-li.org, go to paws-li.org or Facebook page, or call 631-306-4616.
