One thing we know about homeless animals is that if they could write a letter to Santa, the one and only thing on their list would be a forever home. Can you grant a wish for a one of these very special cats and dogs this holiday season?
Available for adoption at Almost Home Animal Rescue:

It isn’t every day that you meet a lady as unique and gorgeous as Neida. This 7-year-old stunner is a beautiful pooch who has been looking for her forever home for over three years. Neida is full of personality and affection.
Her dream home would be the one that can give her all of the time and patience that she deserves, so she can settle in, and bond with her family gently and quietly. She longs for a family that she can trust, and who will make her feel safe. In return, Neida promises a lifetime of life, friendship, and faithfulness.
Thanks to a generous Bideawee volunteer and donor, Neida’s fee has been covered. All she needs now is a home to call her own, and a soft place to rest her head. She would be best as your only four-legged friend in the home as well. bideawee.org
Meet Hoist! He’s a jubilant and joyful pooch who loves to explore and play. Always on the scent for any quest or expedition, Hoist can be counted upon for any adventure you have in mind.
Not to mention, he is ever so charming to behold. Donning a gorgeous tricolor coat, long ears, and soulful puppy dog eyes, he is too adorable for words. Weighing in at just 35 pounds, he’s also the idyllic medium-sized pup for anyone seeking a new family member that is neither too large nor too small.
All he needs is a doting home that shares in his active lifestyle. bideawee.org
This stunning 5-year-old silver-coated lady is named Georgi Girl! She is a beautiful Domestic Shorthair, who is just waiting for the right person to give her heart away to. Georgi Girl has been looking for her forever home since 2015. Once she sees that you are the one for her, she will be smitten and devoted to her one and only. bideawee.org
Meet Pearl, a magnificent 5-year-old lady, who is just as precious as her name would suggest. She’s a fantastic Domestic Shorthair kitty with a coat of creams, silvers and whites. Pearl is a true lady, though, and must know that anyone trying to steal her heart is the one for her. She demands to be wooed and celebrated, and is awaiting for someone to win her paw! bideawee.org

This is Kobe. This 7-1/2-year-old baby boy came to the shelter as a stray in 2015. He was returned to his owner two times, but this is now his third stay with us and his owner never came back for him. Staff and volunteers are so heartbroken for him, but they know there is a better life out there for him.
Kobe is very sweet, loves to play with toys and knows a ton of commands including giving both paws! The best part of this angel is that he seems to like other dogs. Kobe also loves car rides and is friendly with everyone he meets. Kobe is so deserving of a forever family, so let’s make it happen.
If you are interested in adopting Kobe, please call for more information: 516-785-5220, visit the shelter at 3320 Beltagh Avenue, Wantagh, or email email@example.com
Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America:
Yafa (BF2423) was found locally by good Samaritans, and now this darling 6-year-old gal is learning to live among humans in a quiet, cage-free setting. Yafa is seeking a peaceful home with cat-experienced adults to help her continue to heal. If there are children in the home, it’s best that they’re twelve or older. Yafa is FIV+ so a home with other FIV+ cats would be optimal.
Staff refers to Della (NCI0784) as their “house panther” who is happiest as a lap cat. At almost a year old, Della has already survived trauma but thanks to the heroes at North Shore’s Medical Center who repaired an injured paw, Della is fully recovered and has no physical limitations. Della enjoys the company of other felines and loves to snuggle with a trusted human friend. You can be that friend!
Currently an office foster, Clark Kent (E3318) is a staff favorite and their in-house Superman. This 11-year-old senior Chihuahua is a snugglebug who wants to be as close to you as possible. He’s got energy that belies his age and loves to be among people. He does have a few health issues (a heart murmur and allergies that cause skin irritations) but all manageable for the lucky adopter who chooses to give Clark Kent a happy, loving home.
For more info about adopting Yafa, Della and Clark Kent, please email MikeS@animalleague.org.
Available for adoption through Pets4Luv:
Honey Bun came to this rescue with her four 3-day-old babies. She was only 10 months old at the time, she is now 1 1/2 years old. She’s shy, but super sweet and is learning to trust more and more each day. She loves to play and is often found with her belly in the air (this is a big gesture in cat language that shows they are comfortable with humans and their surroundings). There is no denying she’s a beauty, so why not adopt her today?
Sophie & Slinky are 2-year-old bonded siblings that are just too adorable. Sophie with her heart nose and Slinky with his bad haircut! Sophie is more confident than Slinky, but they are both super sweet, loving and silly kitties who would make great additions to your family.
Betty is just about 5 years old, and is as pretty as a Boxer/Pit Bull Terrier comes. She’s a sweet and friendly girl with High Energy. She loves to cuddle up on the sofa! It takes her a while to warm up to certain men but she gets along well with women.
For more information about adoption Honey Bun, Sophie, Slinky and Betty, contact Pets4Luv Foundation @pets4luv.org or 516-832-8200.
Available for adoption from The No Kill Project:
Autumn is a sweet but timid 7-month-old kitten who is a double polydactyl. She is litter trained and gets along well with other cats. She is good with children and loves playing with her cat toys or laying in the sun. She is not a lap cat and will need time to acclimate, however she is capable of being a good companion if she finds the right loving patient person to work with her.
If you’re interested in adopting Autumn, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.”
As always, thanks for reading and please remember to always adopt, never shop…pass it on!
