Not one, but 17 adorable cats and dogs are ready to head home with you this weekend, all promising to keep you warm throughout this cold winter!
And while adoption is always the best way to help homeless animals, the Nassau County SPCA would like to remind everyone to call the Nassau County SPCA at 516-THE-SPCA (843-7722) to report animals left out in the cold in Nassau County. Dogs and cats should not be confined outdoors when temperatures are below freezing (32 degrees Fahrenheit), and with the temperatures drastically dropping, you could be saving a dogs/cats life by making that call!
Available for adoption through Pets4Luv:
Frankie could very well be one of the sweetest cats ever brought to Pets4Luv. He just loves people and adores kids! He’s 3 years old and his personality is as unique as his looks. He’s charming, sweet, funny, playful and cuddly, he’s quite literally the whole package!
Shayna’s mom recently passed away and she misses her terribly. She’s 5 years old and super shy. She’s not used to all that goes on in a rescue, so she gets over looked. What this sweet gal needs to thrive is a home of her own so she can be a relaxed, happy lady again. If you look into her eyes today, all you see is the sadness…let’s help her eyes shine bright once again!
Power couple Chloe and Dewey (ChloDew) are a bonded pair that are ready to light up your life! Dewey is a 5-year-old fella who has been calling Pets4Luv home most of his life. Chloe is a 2-year-old gal that arrived at Pets4Luv when she was just a kitten. These sweethearts are timid rescues who provide comfort, love and support to each other. They do everything together; especially cuddle. The only thing better than snuggling with one cat, is snuggling with two, so head down and scoop these two up today!

Eight-month old Sarr is a real gem! She is pretty much fully grown at 25 pounds, so she weighs in at that perfect “in between” size. Starr is a super loving girl who loves people and other dogs. She loves to play and run around tossing her stuffed animals around the playroom. She is also extremely affectionate and loves to be pet and to spend time with people. Starr is still trying to get over her fear of walking outside, so she will need a patient owner to help her build some confidence in that area. She would also do wonderfully with another dog in the home as that would make her feel more secure and just plain happy.
Everyone meet Murphy! He is one goofy, lovable 3-year-old boy who is chock full of sweetness and character. His affectionate nature is every bit as endearing, as his quirky personality and silly games are charming. Murphy is seeking a mature home that can appreciate him for the silly and sweet boy that he is, and who can shower him with the TLC he deserves. An adult-only family, or a family with teenage children, would be ideal for him. He also loves a good adventure, and so anyone who enjoys hiking and sniffing out new trails would be a great match for him. In return, you can expect a faithful friend for life.
Thomas is a charming and quite handsome 5-month-old boy that everyone swoons for! Boasting a smoke and white coat, brilliant hazel eyes, and a rose-pink nose, he’s quite the ham. Not to mention, he is ever so loving. Offering the paw of friendship to other kittens and his people pals alike, Thomas is generous with his love. He provides comfort, friendship and affection to all. With an equally wonderful family, there is no doubt that he’d flourish to his full potential.
This handsome young kitten is named Manchas. Doesn’t he have the most endearing face? Boasting a perfectly painted black and ivory mask upon his countenance, with bright, hazel eyes, and charming white whiskers, Manchas is just gorgeous. Bashful and tender-hearted, he is seeking a quiet and gentle home, that will give him the time and love that he deserves in order grow comfortable. In return, you can expect a faithful, furry friend for life!
For more information about adopting Starr, Murphy, Thomas and Manchas, contact the Bideawee adoption center located at 118 Old Country Rd., Westhampton, or call 631-684-0079.

Wanna know what makes Henry such a love? It’s because he loves to play fetch, loves swimming, and is described as loving and affectionate by shelter staff and volunteers. Poor Henry has been at the shelter since November 2016 when he arrived as a stray. Henry is now one of their top 10 longest residents, a title no one wanted him to get. Henry seems to really like other dogs and is super sweet and loving with people after he trusts them. He is one of those dogs who will nudge your hand for more affectionate, we is simply adorable. Henry is looking for a home with kids 17 and up due to some handling sensitivities. Henry truly deserves a loving home, let’s make it happen!

You’re not going to find a more loving, loyal companion than Frederick (reference #BF2739). He is a true gentleman who has known love before and is looking forward to spending the entire day in your lap. This 8-year-old sweet boy is being treated for Hyperthyroidism and eagerly gobbles up his meds in food. Frederick would prefer to be the only pet in his home. Could you be that home? For more information on Frederick, please reach out to DoritS@animalleague.org
Lucas (reference #E3073) is a high-spirited, 3-year-old male cat who quickly turned into a staff favorite due to his favorite game: playing with crumpled post-it notes! Lucas can’t get enough of chasing after them. He’s a great match for your energetic pets at home but he is FIV+ so a home with other FIV+ cats looking for a playmate will be ideal. If you think you have the energy to keep up with him, get in touch with DoritS@animalleague.org (Just make sure you have lots of post-it notes and ear rubs ready for him!)
Kimba (reference #IR1067) has traveled a long way to find his forever home. Rescued all the way from Asia, he is a very sweet dog, though he takes some time to build trust and a bond with new human friends. Like many timid dogs, he does best around another friendly, happy and confident dog who can show him the ropes—so this is a must for any home he is adopted to. And if the home has children, he’d do better if the children are 12 or older. Once he settles in, he can be quite the character, though this will take some time, patience, and most of all…lots of love! For more information about Kimba, please contact MikeS@animalleague.org
As always, thanks for reading and please remember to always adopt, never shop…pass it on!
