Mysteries of the Pyramids

Dr. Regina T. Gilbert, an adjunct professor at Hofstra University, will discuss one of the greatest mysteries of all time—how the pyramids were built—at 2 p.m. in Main’s community room.

West Egg Book Club at Station

The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood, who weaves together strands of gothic suspense, romance and science fiction, will be discussed at the next West Egg Book Club at 7 p.m. at Station; 516-466-8055, ext. 258.

Budget Workshop at Main

College Admissions Roadmap to Success

Michael Binder, president and founder of Your College Navigator, will guide students through the college planning and admissions process from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Main’s community room. Great Decisions at Main

Librarian Christy Orquera facilitates a discussion on Nuclear Negotiations: Back to the Future? at 2 p.m. in Main’s community room. Great Decisions programs involve reading the Great Decisions Briefing Book, watching the DVD and meeting in a discussion group. Prospective Candidates Search

For the 2019 Great Neck Library election on Oct. 28, prospective candidates are being sought for two seats expiring in January 2020—one on the Board of Trustees to fill Scott Sontag’s seat and one on the Nominating Committee to fill Patrick McDonnell’s seat. A nominee must be a member of the Great Neck Library Association by Oct. 7, 2019, at least 18 years old, a resident of the Great Neck School District and either be a valid library card holder or registered voter with the Nassau County Board of Elections.
