North Shore Animal League America is waving adoption fees for all cats and kittens, for approved adopters, at their Port Washington campus throughout the Labor Day Weekend. North Shore Animal League America is filled to capacity with adoptable cats and kittens and they need your help creating more room so they can continue their life-saving mission. Adopting kittens (especially in pairs,) as well as teenaged and senior cats, into loving homes will enable them to rescue more animals in need. Beginning Thursday, August 29, they will open to the public for a Feline Friends & Family Evening. Cat enthusiasts looking to adopt are invited to visit the Little Learners building on their Port Washington campus to find new feline friends. Aug. 30 through Sept. 1, adoption fees will be waived on all cats and kittens for all approved adopters.

Dodger is quite the intelligent 8-year-old feline who chose his current family all by himself. With an injured leg, he walked up to their door, went through their house and into their lives. That was 7 years ago. Fast forward to today and his family is devastated they have to give him up due to some newly diagnosed pet allergies. Dodger is neutered and healthy and is just an all-around good boy who loves to lie in the sun and play with his toy mice. He lived peacefully with a small dog for a few years, not sure about other cats. If you can open your heart and home to Dodger, please contact email@example.com or call (631) 306-4616 today!

Hensley (adoption #R166808) is still just a kitten herself, yet she has spent the better part of her first year carrying and caring for a litter of kittens. Those days are behind her, and now she can spend the rest of her life as a healthy, happy, beloved indoor pet. Hensley is an 11-month-old, medium-haired North Carolina transplant with fur soft as silk who actively enjoys her playtime. Motherhood has left this lady sensitive so a home with children 10+ in age and cat-experienced adults will help her transition into her very first—and definitely her very best—home! If you’d like to help Hensley start over in your family, please come by and introduce yourself to one of the loveliest momma cat heroes our team has nurtured! **Double Adoption** When young, 2-year-old Sammi (adoption #WV0448) became a mama in West Virginia, she was so devoted to her daughter, Davis (adoption #WV0449) that her rescuers asked NSALA to keep them together forever- and they are happy to oblige because they couldn’t be more charming! Mini-me Davis looks up to her mama for guidance and never leave each other’s side, but they both have plenty of room in their hearts to embrace a new family. If you’re interested in this mother/daughter adoption, please reach out to DoritS@animalleague.org.

Come meet her today at Little Shelter in Huntington!
Priscilla is also looking for her furever home. This happy dog is a sweet at spunky 12-year-old Terrier mix who is a huge people “person.” Priscilla had a blast at Pet-A-Palooza going up to and getting attention from all the visitors who came by. With her outgoing personality, no one can can’t believe she is still available! Priscilla is a great little dog who loves to play, run, and snuggle. She does need to be the only pet, but don’t let that turn you away. She’s an extremely gentle girl that will make you laugh for hours with her puppy like personality.
Buggsy the luvbug wants you to meet him at Little Shelter. This guy is quite the character! He loves people and is a total ham for attention. Who could ask for more?

Available for adoption at Bideawee:
Joci is a sweet and precious 10-year-old lady who’s a warm and loving senior dog seeking a home to call her own. Donning a fantastic ebony and ivory coat with brindle highlights throughout, she is both outwardly stunning and inwardly lovely. Joci needs a family that is every bit as wonderful and affectionate as she is. In return, you can expect endless love and loyalty from her. If Joci sounds like an idyllic fit for your family, call and ask about adopting or fostering her today!
Snipe comes equipped with a wonderful smile, precious caramel pips and a sweet freckled face-he has certainly turned heads at Bideawee. Sweet 1-year-old Snipe came all the way from South Carolina but has quickly settled into the New York lifestyle. He has won many hearts already with his cuddles and unique wiggling behind and is anxiously awaiting a home (and couch) to snuggle that behind up to.
Eight-year old Pumpkin was found trapped inside of a tire by a Good Samaritan when she just was 4 months old and was brought to Bideawee for housing and care. They took one look at her and swept her right under their wing! Pumpkin is a social and excitable domestic short-hair kitty. She has a great deal of playful, kitten-like energy still. Pumpkin would be pleased as punch to chase a string around for hours. She is quite the socialite, too, and loves to strut around; she believes that the world is her playground! Pumpkin is quite unique in both personality and creation; she is not only zesty, but she is an uncommon find, as orange female cats are a rarity! She is seeking an equally special home to call her own. Pumpkin tends to become worked up when she receives more attention at one time than she can handle, and so she would do best in an adult home with cat-savvy adopters. All Pumpkin needs is a chance with the right family!
Carmela is a fantastic little lady known as being a sweet and tenderhearted cat that is simply wonderful from tip to tail. Boasting piercing emerald eyes, and a coat of the most lovey tabby markings, she is a joy to behold. Just as sweet as she is beautiful, she can be counted upon to rub up against your hands for love and nuzzle for comfort. If Carmela sounds like the one for you, ask about adopting her today!
For more information about adopting Joci, Snipe, Pumpkin and Carmela, contact the Bideawee adoption center located at 118 Old Country Rd., Westhampton, or call 631-684-0079.
