Beer Lovers Pack Coliseum For 12 Annual Great Beer Expo

Long Islanders came out in big numbers for the 12th Annual Great Beer Expo on Saturday. 

The event featured breweries from around the corner, around the county, and around the globe. Attendees showed local pride visiting tables featuring the Long Ireland Beer Co. and Blue Point Brewing Company. Beer lovers sampled also brews by Pumpkin Patch and its of season pumpkin beers, Trooper, a beer created for the heavy metal group Iron Maiden, as well as select ciders and wines.

A special tribute to the veterans was lead by the Long Ireland Pipe And Drum Band under the direction of Tim Saliani and the presentation of flags by the Vietnam Veterans of America, Nassau County Chapter 82 tbat made everyone stop and salute the flag.
 
Kids Need More was the event charity. They raised funds by managing the coat check area and conducted a holiday toy drive for their upcoming Holiday Cheer Bus, which delivers toys to 250 local children coping with serious illness.
