After marching through the Village of Port Jefferson in the grand closing Pickwick’s Puppet Parade, the 24th Annual Charles Dickens Festival concluded with a gathering of village dignitaries, street performers, carolers, and festival attendees to witness the much-celebrated lighting of the official Village Christmas Tree.
The balcony in front of Village Hall became the ending ceremony stage that featured the short play, Scrooge’s Change of Heart, the presentation of the Dickens Honoree award, and special thanks to the hundreds of individuals whose efforts make the Festival possible.
From there the countdown commenced culminating with the lighting of the tree to the delight of all.
