The Town of Hempstead is hosting a free drive-in concert series throughout the summer in efforts to provide a fun seasonal experience despite many COVID-19 safety conditions.

Running from early July to late August, Hempstead residents can catch the shows at Town Park in Point Lookout to enjoy a large variety of tribute bands ranging from Bruce Springsteen to the Ladies of Motown, all while lounging safely and comfortably inside of their vehicles. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis with gates opening at 7 p.m. and performances starting at 8 p.m.

“We strongly encourage all residents to review the list of rules and regulations before attending a town … concert,” Hempstead Town Supervisor Donald X. Clavin, Jr. said. “Our dedicated town staff will be on hand at these events to answer any questions or concerns, and we ask for your patience and understanding as employees take additional precautions to reduce the risk of possible exposure to COVID-19.”

Guests must remain in their vehicles throughout the event with the exceptions being the restroom and throwing away trash. Masks are required when outside.
