New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS), one of the nation’s leading oncology practices, announced the addition of dual boarded Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine physician, Dr. Isaac Hardoon, who will lead the division as Chief of Supportive and Palliative Care.

Palliative care is a medical discipline aimed at improving the quality of life for patients with a serious, life-limiting, and advanced illness. NYCBS’ expansion in the integration of palliative care seeks to enhance the quality of the care patients receive by focusing on what their goals of care and treatment are.
Hardoon is a graduate of Stony Brook University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts with a Minor in Biology. He obtained his Doctor of Osteopathy from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship and residency in the Department of Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Hardoon completed his fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, and for the past 3.5 years was a Palliative Care Attending Physician and serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein School of Medicine.

NYCBS is also proud to announce the addition of Palliative Medicine physician, Dr. Janaya Raynor, who will provide supportive and palliative care services in Nassau County and the Boroughs.
“Patients and families plan for birth and life with great hope and expectations,” Raynor said. “We prepare and plan for every instance except those which may be the most life-altering. As a physician, I want to help patients and families through their diagnosis and plan for the most trying of times.”
Raynor obtained a Master of Science degree at Johns Hopkins University. Continuing her education, she received a Doctor of Medicine from Ross University. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. Raynor has experience in clinical research studies and has written multiple publications.
“Science and medicine go hand in hand,” Raynor said. “My background in science and research allows for new advances and options to be available to patients sooner. Medicine is ever-changing, keeping up with science improves the care for our patients.”
Raynor is passionate about offering patients an avenue to express their desires in tailoring and managing their care. “I am excited to be a resource for patients and their families to provide them with tools to begin having hard conversations sooner than later.”
