A nor’easter dumped more than a foot of snow on parts on Long Island on Monday, with accumulations still piling up into Tuesday before the storm clears the area, forecasters say.
The Long Island Rail Road suspended service Monday afternoon before resuming Tuesday morning, dozens of car crashes were reported, and more than 4,000 PSEG Long Island customers lost power in the storm, which also caused coastal flooding in waterfront communities.
The highest snow totals reported on LI was in Bellerose, where 16.6 inches was recorded. Here’s how the rest of the Island stacked up:
