Immaculate Orlando, also known as “Dr. Mac,” is doing what not many have in the abnormal circumstances we currently live in. She has started her own chiropractic practice in Manhasset, Immaculate Chiropractic at 75 Plandome Rd.
“I really enjoy people,” Orlando said. “I love working with people. I love being around people. I know chiropractic helps people and I want to help as many people as I can.”
She previously had her own practice in Bayonne, New Jersey for 12 years. Whiles she treats everyone, she specializes in infants that have their spines misaligned during the process of childbirth.
“It all starts out when the baby is born, because I take care of children when your spine is in proper alignment at a young age, you’re going to function better,” Orlando said. “Issues that are going on is when the baby comes out, depending on how the neck is being pulled, that starts the first subluxation.”
Orlando believes that everyone can benefit from chiropractic and that educating is her best tool for those that may have some hesitancy about the practice.
“Honestly, I can’t tell you why people don’t like chiropractic, I guess they’re not educated with chiropractic,” Orlando said. “I take care of people. If someone comes to me and they have an ailment or something else going on, I’m going to refer out.”
The former Manhasset resident has a process for her work and is willing to work with anyone to relieve any pain they might be going through.
“Everybody probably has a subluxation or 90 percent of the people have a subluxation just from everyday life stress, any kind of trauma to the body,” Orlando said. “When your spine is not in proper alignment, your body is not going to function well. That’s where you’re going to get all those aches pains and all these things. What I do is I take x-rays, I look at the spine and I try to put it back in alignment. The biggest thing is correcting a subluxation, that’s when a bone is putting pressure on the nerve and it’s not working correctly.”
