Life Support 1

Two men were found shot to death inside a Selden home during a missing person investigation on Tuesday night, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

The missing man, Ian Saalfield, 45, of Lake Grove, and the Selden homeowner, Robert Julian, 58, were pronounced dead at the scene. Saalfield’s wife had reported him missing on April 26, and officers responded to the house as part of the search.

“The relationship between the two victims is still under investigation, as is a more specific time and date of death,” a Suffolk police spokesperson said in a statement, adding that the incident is not being investigated as a murder-suicide.

Suffolk County police officers reported to 55 Hollywood Ave. in Selden, where they found the two victims, at about 10:45 p.m. A physicians assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office pronounced them both dead. Police would not comment on the number of times each victim was shot.

Police have not shared any information on possible suspects, and the investigation into the shooting deaths is ongoing.

Suffolk detectives are urging anyone with information on the incident to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
