Phil Eng
The LiRo Group, a national, multidisciplinary project and construction management, engineering, architecture, and technology firm, hired Eng as executive vice president. Eng has joined LiRo after a 40-year career in public service in which his most prominent role was president of the MTA Long Island Rail Road.
Nina Smith
Jovia Financial Credit Union appointed Smith, formally Nina Rahn, to its executive team as chief operations officer. With over two decades of expertise, her talents include banking operations, internal and external auditing, enterprise risk management, fraud prevention, vendor management and contract negotiations, metrics management, and compliance regulation and implementation.
Robert J. Elmen
Melville-based engineering firm Nelson + Pope named Elmen its new director of operations for both and environmental affiliate Nelson Pope Voorhis. He has 28 years of federal government experience in national security and tactical operations from his four years serving as an officer in the U.S. Army and 24 years as a Special Agent/Supervisory Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s New York Office.
Patricia A. Craig
Cona Elder Law, a Melville-based law firm concentrating on elder law, estate planning, estate administration, and health care law, added Craig to its special needs practice group. Her practice will focus on special needs planning, guardianships and estate planning. She helps families who have children with special needs access government benefits and guides them through their estate planning, special needs trusts, and other key legal decisions.
Ira Berkowitz
FCA, a leading health and human services not-for-profit organization on Long Island, recently welcomed Berkowitz as CPA as vice president and chief financial officer. He joins FCA with over 30 years of non-profit financial experience, serving the last 25 years as a CFO.
Erica Schifano
FCA named Schifano its vice president of family support. She most recently worked at Northwell Health as a Supervisor within the adult health home program. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and New York State Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee (CASAC-T).
Thurston O’Neal
FCA promoted O’Neal to assistant vice president of prevention and community engagement. He most recently served as director of the Hempstead Prevention Coalition at FCA. In his new role, he will lead FCA’s robust lineup of prevention programs that help young people and families across Long Island cope with societal, economic and other issues that affect their lives and communities.
Jennifer Porti
Porti has been appointed as the new community relations manager at Bank of America in Melville. She was previously a development director at the American Heart Association, where she led the charge on various Long Island campaigns.
