3 New Restaurants on Long Island

THE PIE HOLE

Not to be confused with the California-based chain of the same name, the newest must-try pizzeria on Long Island is The Pie Hole in Farmingdale, the brainchild of local restaurateur extraordinaire Chef Marc Bynum.

The three-time Chopped champion who’s worked at restaurants such as Venue 56 in Hauppauge and opened Hush Bistro in Huntington, among others, is now putting his spin on everyone’s favorite Italian dish: pizza.

The menu includes innovating twists on the usual toppings, such as a pie with jerk chicken, grilled pineapple, plantain, and hibiscus barbecue sauce, another with braised short ribs and collard greens, or a pie with shrimp, cilantro, and onions.

WATERMARK

Serving up a fresh new brunch option with all the beverages to wash it down with is Watermark, a relaxing new locale from the family that previously owned the popular Huntington diner Munday’s.

Opening over the summer where Michael Anthony’s Food Bar once stood, Watermark also offers a lunch menu featuring sandwiches, burgers and salads, plus a dinner menu with pasta, steak and seafood. It also offers happy hour specials and lunch combos.

Stars of the menu include the crab cake sandwich served on a brioche roll ($17.95), the slow-cooked braised short ribs ($29.95), and the orecchiette pasta with crumbled sausage, peas and shaved Parmesan ($24.95)
