Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island Hold Annual Catwalk for Kids Event
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI) held its Catwalk for Kids Fashion Show at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury on May 4.
The fundraising event had more than 200 guests in attendance, 42 matches of “Bigs” and “Littles” strutting their stuff down the runway, and amazing swag bags and raffle prizes. Guests began the evening poolside with a beautiful cocktail reception, followed by a sold-out tented runway show.
The Bigs and Littles featured fashion and footwear from Macy’s, Nautica, Savers, Marchon Eyewear, and Steve Madden, showcasing everything from casual leisurewear to professional workplace attire. Ally Ali, co-host of The Syke Morning Show with Ally Ali on 106.1 BLI, kept the event lively and fun as she introduced each new look.
“This is my favorite event that the organization puts on. It is such a happy and vibrant event, just a lot of fun. People are always excited to come each year,” said co-chair and board member Kelly Stanley.
“Biggest self-esteem booster I have ever seen,” said co-chair and board member Liz Meyers. “It’s amazing to watch kids get up there and strut their stuff down the runway, full of confidence in themselves and what they are wearing. It is an amazing sight!”
Event sponsors included Steve Madden, Darby Dental, Kelly & Michael Stanley, Marchon Eyewear, DIME Bank, ABC 7, Naka Technologies LLC, Titos Vodka, JP Morgan Chase, Events by DJ Rob, Astoria Productions, Sir Speedy, Kimmy Kim of Premiere Productions, and SmileyNY Entertainment.
