Tuscan Sunsets In A Glass: The Creation Of A Signature Cocktail

Cocktail

On a bustling evening, the Cafe Testarossa team found inspiration in longing for Tuscany, Italy, leading to the birth of the sunset in Tuscany cocktail. This drink quickly became a favorite with its vibrant orange hue and refreshing taste. Yet a secret ingredient keeps guests intrigued and guessing.

About the Sunset In Tuscany Cocktail

“After a busy Saturday night, we were brainstorming new seasonal cocktails to add to the menu,” says Danielle Cashman, a floor manager at Cafe Testarossa, a Syosset restaurant serving Italian-influenced American cuisine. “We questioned what would be refreshing, innovative, and colorful. As we discussed, we also fell into personal conversations of our plans for the weekend. I shared that I was going to Tuscany that week and couldn’t wait to tour the vineyards, taste the delicious Chianti Classico, eat all the pasta, of course, and sit on my terrace watching the Tuscan sunset. Bam! We had the name for our next drink: sunset in Tuscany.”

While Cashman wouldn’t disclose all of the cocktail’s ingredients, as one of them is kept secret, she does encourage guests to order the cocktail and guess the unknown component. The elements she did reveal included gin, Aperol Apertif Liquor, and pineapple juice. These ingredients and the secret one are shaken and served on ice with a dried orange slice.

“We are always accommodating to our customers and will gladly make the cocktail with their liquor of choice,” she says.

How Customers Feel About The Cocktail

Compared to other drinks on the restaurant’s menu, sunset in Tuscany is a top seller with guests.

“Our bartenders cannot make enough of this drink,” she says “We have many delicious cocktails on our menu, for example, the fig martini, the Hugo, and the coconut martini; however, the sunset in Tuscany stands apart from the others with its vibrant shade of orange and smooth taste.

“The fragrance of the cocktail hits you first before that initial crisp sip that sends your taste buds into absolute heaven. It’s easy and refreshing, the perfect way to start or end your dining experience with us.”
