Blue Angels

The 20th Anniversary Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach is gearing up for its performance on May 25 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m, as announced by Bethpage Federal Credit Union and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

The headline act for this milestone event will be the renowned United States Navy Blue Angels, marking their 10th headlining performance at the Bethpage Air Show since their debut in 2004.

“The Bethpage Air Show symbolizes the credit union’s roots and is a testament to Long Island’s history in aviation,” Linda Armyn, president and CEO of Bethpage Federal Credit Union, said. “It is a true collaboration and we are honored to continue to support and help produce this extraordinary show.”

The Blue Angels, who flew Grumman Hellcats built on Long Island during their inaugural flight in 1946, will return to the skies.

Joining them will be military performers such as the United States Army Golden Knights Parachute Team and the A-10C Thunderbolt II Demo Team, alongside civilian performers like Mike Goulian and the world-famous Skytypers.

“2024 is a very special year for us,” George Gorman, Regional Director, New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historical Preservation, said. “Not only are we celebrating the 20 th anniversary of the Bethpage Air Show, but we are also celebrating the 95 th anniversary of Jones Beach State Park and the 100th anniversary of New York State Parks and the Long Island State Park Commission. Spectators are in for a real treat!”

To commemorate the occasion, organizers will distribute 30,000 commemorative U.S. Navy Blue Angels signed posters during the practice show on Friday, May 24th, and the weekend shows. Attendees can also indulge in a 1000-pound anniversary cake and explore various celebratory elements throughout the holiday weekend.

The Bethpage Air Show Mobile App will return to provide information to attendees, including performer details and a site map.

The Bethpage Air Show is free to the public, with only a standard $10.00 vehicle use fee collected each day upon entry to the State Park. For holders of the 2024 NYS Empire Pass Card, there will be no vehicle use fee charge. The pass provides unlimited vehicle access to most facilities operated by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
