Devan, a 2-year-old math genius from Commack, will showcase his skills on America’s Got Talent, which will premiere May 28 on NBC as he will audition for a spot in the contest.

Devan has been astounding his audience on social media after his love for numbers was discovered at just 4 months old. Instead of using toys, he enjoys practicing with numbers.

“We had posted him on TikTok and it went viral,” said Devan’s father, Duane. “One of the producers had seen it and reached out to us saying he thought Devan was a good fit for America’s Got Talent.”

Since his first viral post in September, Devan, known as @devanlovesnumbers on Instagram and TikTok, has been practicing his math equations and numbers every day and stunning his large social media following.

“At first we thought America’s Got Talent was only for singers and acting performances, and I was not sure how a 2-year-old doing math would be on the show,” said Duane, after being reached out by a producer. “But, Devan assured us that he would be great.”

Although he is now receiving recognition on the national stage, Devan’s family discovered his passion for numbers when he was just an infant.

“At 4 months old we realized his love for numbers,” said Duane. “When we were showing him learning shows, if we would change the channel from the math shows, he would start to cry and when we would change it back he would stop.”

Devan’s talents include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, knowledge of Roman numerals, and even exponents which has quickly gained him a following of 707K on Instagram and 773.9K on TikTok.

Devan and his father aim to convey a positive message to the young children and parents watching that anything is possible, while also hoping to astonish the judges and the crowd.

“It is never too early to start teaching your child numbers,” said Duane. “Devan is proof of that and we just want to inspire kids, parents, and soon-to-be parents that when you start from an early age this is the result that you will get.”

Although Devan’s journey is just beginning, he has already been featured on multiple platforms such as The Kelly Clarkson Show, CBS Morning Show, and many other news outlets that have highlighted his TikToks, which have left viewers stunned.

Past Long Islanders who have entered the contest include 10-year-old Lambros Garcia of Glen Head in Season 18, 16-year-old Christian Guardino who was granted the Golden Buzzer in Season 12 by Howie Mandel, automatically placing him in the live shows, and singer Sal Valentinetti who was a finalist in Season 11. Devan will be distinguished as the youngest contestant on America’s Got Talent from Long Island.

The premiere episode of America’s Got Talent will be aired this upcoming Tuesday on NBC. Supporters can tune in at 8 p.m. EST as “Baby Dev” displays his impressive talent and love for numbers to compete for the $1 million prize.
