“I Hate My Voice, But, I Love to Sing.”
Who can relate? Do you like your voice but you’d like to improve? Or are you a singer who wants to learn more about proper singing techniques?
This book and musical performance are for you. Join us at the Great Neck Library for a special Jimmy Moore Show and book discussion with a Q&A session. You can even purchase his book.
Author and professional singer, Jimmy Moore, born and raised in Great Neck has been singing since he was a teenager. He has performed in musical theater productions, operas and was in a top-forty band for several years in Boston. He is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory of Music.
Singing jazz was his first passion and that passion grew into his love of singing in all styles. He has been a voice teacher for over 20 years in his studio in Sea Cliff and has previously performed at the Great Neck Library many times.
The book is part memoir and part instruction. He explains his philosophy on the voice and takes the reader on a journey of voice exploration while explaining the Jimmy Moore Method of singing.
The book’s takeaway is that Jimmy firmly believes anyone can learn to sing. When you watch his show, he’ll demonstrate how one can sing songs of all styles, jazz, opera, musical theatre, country, pop and rock. We have it all inside of ourselves – we just have to grab it.
This event will be at the Main Library at 159 Bayview Ave. in Great Neck on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. Registration is required. Great Neck cardholders and residents can register online, in-person, or via phone. Non-residents are welcome as walk-ins, as space allows.
