As a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, General Integrated Project Management & Services, Inc. exemplifies leadership, discipline, and community impact. In this Small Business Spotlight, owner Steven Victor McCory shares how military values drive his mission to enhance safety, efficiency, and opportunity — continuing to serve others through innovation, mentorship, and purpose-driven work.
What do you love about being in this business/being an owner?
What I love most about being in this business and serving as the owner of General Integrated Project Management & Services, Inc. is the ability to make a meaningful impact on both people and organizations. As an SDVOSB, I take pride in continuing to serve others — applying the discipline, dedication, and values I honed during my military service to every project. Every day, I get to solve complex problems, streamline operations, and enhance safety and efficiency for our clients. I thrive on creating tailored solutions that protect assets, improve workflows, and bring peace of mind.
Being an owner allows me to lead with purpose — building a team that shares my commitment to excellence, integrity, and service. I find great satisfaction in mentoring my staff, watching them grow professionally, and knowing that together we are delivering real value. Ultimately, it’s the combination of strategic thinking, hands-on problem-solving, and positively impacting people’s lives that makes this work incredibly rewarding.
How do you feel your business impacts the local community?
Through General Integrated Project Management & Services, Inc., I strive to make a tangible difference in the local community by enhancing safety, operational efficiency, and security awareness for organizations of all sizes, and helping other Integrators deliver the same. Beyond our direct client services, I am deeply committed to giving back and empowering others.
As one of the board members for the Security Industry Association (SIA) – Veterans in Security, I work to inspire and guide active-duty service members, veterans, and retired military personnel to explore careers in the security industry. By creating pathways for military professionals to join the collective security workforce, I help foster meaningful employment opportunities, strengthen community safety, and ensure that the values of service, integrity, and leadership continue to make a positive impact both locally and nationally.

What role do you think small businesses play in promoting energy efficiency within the broader community?
Small businesses play a critical role in promoting energy efficiency by serving as both innovators and role models within their communities. They have the flexibility to implement sustainable practices, adopt new technologies, and optimize operations in ways that reduce energy consumption and waste. By doing so, they demonstrate to clients, partners, and the broader community that efficiency and sustainability are not only achievable but also beneficial for cost savings and long-term resilience.
