Enviowash is a unique on-site commercial car cleaning and detailing company that services car dealerships and fleets with state-of-the-art equipment and highly trained and experienced staff.

“If you trade your car in, we recondition it for it to be resold,” says Marc Martilotta, owner/operator of Enviowash. “If you come to buy a new car, we prep that and get that ready to be sold.”

When a dealership subcontracts out their services, Enviowash will tailor the setup to what that dealership’s needs are when it comes to the amount of staff needed and hours of operation. The company has a highly trained staff who is ready to make used cars look showroom ready and accomplish it with a 24-hour turn time.

“They don’t buy soap,” Martilotta says. “They don’t buy towels. They do not have anything to do with the detailing operation other than letting us know what needs to be done. We run that department for them.”

In today’s competitive automotive market, presentation is everything. A high-end car detailing company is far more than a cosmetic service — it is a strategic asset to car dealerships, ownership groups, and vehicle owners alike.

Detailing Drives Value

For car dealerships, professional detailing directly impacts profitability. A meticulously detailed vehicle photographs better, attracts more foot traffic, and creates a stronger first impression that drives faster sales and higher closing ratios. Showroom-ready inventory signals quality, professionalism, and pride in the product. Consistent, premium detailing also reduces time-to-sale and helps justify top-market pricing, especially on luxury and certified pre-owned vehicles.

For dealership owners and management, a trusted high-end detailing partner streamlines their operation. Outsourcing detailing to experts reduces internal labor costs, minimizes reconditioning delays, and ensures consistent results across all inventory. Management gains peace of mind knowing vehicles are handled with care, precision, and accountability — allowing staff to focus on sales, customer experience, and growth rather than rework or quality control issues.

Ultimately, a high-end car detailing company elevates standards across the board. It enhances brand image, improves operational efficiency, and adds measurable value—making it an indispensable partner in today’s automotive industry.

From Mortgages to Chassis

Before he started the business, Martilotta worked for several years as an account executive at MortgageIT, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank, but was let go in 2007 during the financial crisis.

Right around that time, while vacationing in Costa Rica, Martilotta observed a car washing system utilizing safe biodegradable chemicals that did not have to rely on extreme amounts of water.

He brought that technology back home, starting with the franchise GeoWash, where he had car washing operations at the Source Mall in Westbury and Walt Whitman Mall in Huntington, and quickly learned the business.

“We were paying them franchise fees and very quickly I knew more than they did – or at least the guy who was in charge of the U.S.,” Martilotta says.

Soon after that, Martilotta started Enviowash in 2008, which was named for its environmentally friendly products: biodegradable chemicals which were first commercially used for fleets in the 5 boroughs.

The business pivoted from the mall business model, which though it seemed like a great idea – getting your car washed while you shopped – proved quite challenging getting consumers to catch on to the idea.

In the spring of 2008, Enviowash started with a contract with Zipcars to clean 50 cars a week. Within 6 to 9 months, they were cleaning 2,000 Zipcars, Hertz and Enterprise vehicles weekly.

“And then we took off from there and I got into the car dealership world,” says Martilotta, adding that they’re now dealing with about 25 businesses throughout NYC, Long Island, Westchester, Rockland County, New Jersey and Connecticut.

An accountant by trade, Jack Martilotta, Marc’s father, works in the back office and does accounting for the business and Carlos Cruz, who’s been with the company since 2009, has been operations manager since 2013.

“He’s Enviowash’s main manager who’s on the road pretty much every day going to the sites, making sure the management from the dealership perspective is happy, dealing with any small issues to ensure they do not become large ones as well as making sure the guys have everything they need,” Martilotta says.

Unique in the Business

Enviowash stands out in the commercial car washing business for its total commitment to relationship building with dealerships and fleets. Industrywide, Enviowash is known for its reliable, dependable and timely service.

“Our management team has a vast understanding of the dealership industry, we know where the pain points are and how to eliminate them,” Martilotta says. “We offer on-site 7 day a week staffing options with unparalleled flexibility.  We allow you to focus on your business while we worry about the detailing.”

Enviowash cleans cars, RVs, trucks, buses, limousines, heavy-duty vehicles, boats, planes and more.

At the other end of the business, on-site management and constant follow-up with the customers is essential, but often overlooked by other companies.

“Other companies will allow issues to fester and become a disaster before they’re on the scene working on it,” he says. “We’re constantly following up with our business partners to help them and make sure that minor concerns don’t grow into bigger problems.”

“We stay ahead of our competition by constantly checking our staff’s work,” he adds.

“Going to each location and pulling out the keys for the cars that were just reconditioned to make sure that the work’s being executed properly is key,” Martilotta says.
